Description
Baden-Württemberg Documents and appendices relating to the official accounts for Michelfeldt, from St George’s Day 1772 to the same date in 1773. (Title). Containing approx. 60 documents (letters, receipts, lists of levies, etc.). Michelfeld (Schwäbisch-Hall district), 1772–1773. Total of approx. 90 leaves (each approx. 35 x 20 cm, some pages blank). Contemporary folio half-leather binding with pasted paper covers, hand-mounted title page (rubbed and bumped; leather partly worm-eaten; lower spine with a gap). Contains, amongst other things, letters requesting the granting of citizenship, a ‘lamb register’, a ‘register of the three-leaf rye tithe’, a ‘register of fruit sales’, a ‘register of tithe straw sales’ and numerous receipts. – With lists of names. – Partly bearing the former seal of the sovereign H. von Gemmingen (presumably Hans Weiprecht von G., 1723–1781) in Darmstadt, the bailiff named Wen(n)g, by Johannes Straßacker, Joh. Sebastian Ziegler, Eberhard Müller (“Jäger dahir”), Joh. Georg Scholl and others. – Some leaves are untrimmed, with crease marks and in slightly varying formats; a few leaves are stained and show water-stained edges, but otherwise generally well preserved.
