Wedding album of Surgeon-General Feodor Korsch (1856–1914) and his wife Hannah Korsch (née Meyerhoff), dedicated on the occasion of their wedding on 11 April 1893 by Georg Schütze, a long-standing friend. Contains 6 full-page chromolithographs, printed sayings and poems, as well as numerous handwritten entries. Wittenberg, K. Herrosé, undated. 143 pp. 4°. Contemporary gold-, black- and blind-embossed blue cloth binding with cover illustration and three-sided gilt edges (buffed, stained).
Includes, amongst other things: a wedding sermon delivered at the Church of the Holy Trinity in Berlin by General Superintendent Ernst Dryander (1843–1922, theologian and politician) (transcript). - Approx. 63 original signatures of the wedding guests, including J. Aschenborn (Privy Councillor), Minna von Bezold, Bohtz, Margarete and Ernst Dryander, Samuel Hartmann, A. Hartsch, Hermann Meyerhoff (father), Marie Opitz (née Roetger), Lt. Schmeltzer, Sophie Toten (née Kirchhoff), Hugo Weizsäcker (assessor), G. and Elisabeth Winter. - Family chronicle up to 1913. - Manuscripts/transcripts: ‘Deutsches Brautwerben’, ‘Schoolgirl with folder and lunchbox’ (Marga Hübner) and others. - Later Entries from August 1893 to 29 July 1907 by Anna, Martin, Oscar and Susanna Korsch, and sister Elsa. - Enclosed: 1 portrait photograph (vintage, silver gelatine print, 14 x 10 cm, mounted), 2 cards with the wedding banquet menu and music programme, 1 double sheet with further, later family notes. - Endpaper with a note from the Alers’ family (?) Foundation in Bremen. - Staples somewhat rusty, 1 lithograph (with handwritten text on the reverse) loose, partly with slight (finger) stains, otherwise generally well preserved.
