One of 999 numbered copies. – This atlas was compiled in Venice around 1542 for King Henry VIII (1491–1547) and was created by Battista Agnese (c. 1500–1564). He is regarded as one of the most accomplished and prolific cartographers of the 16th century and received numerous commissions for atlases from European rulers, including, in 1542, from King Henry VIII of England. All parts of this atlas are interrelated; they weave together humanity’s conquests, new discoveries and adventures into a universal structure. – Includes certificate of authenticity. – Very good condition.
