The Book of 1,000 Images. Gulbenkian Book of Hours. Facsimile of the manuscript Ms. inv. L.A. 135 at the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum in Lisbon. 2 vols. Facsimile and commentary. Madrid, AyN Ediciones, 2007. 4° and 8°. Blue velvet binding with metal fittings, a lapis lazuli stone and cloth, all housed in a leather case with gold embossing (slightly worn). One of 995 numbered copies. – The codex, produced in France between 1450 and 1460, was a private prayer book. Owing to its rich illumination, the manuscript was given the name ‘Book of the 100 Images’. In addition to the full-page miniatures, it also contains a series of smaller images in the margins. - A copy in mint condition. Facsimile of the manuscript Ms. inv.
