A book of verses in German rhyming couplets. A complete facsimile edition of Codex Vindobonensis S.N. 2652 from the Austrian National Library. Facsimile. Graz, Akademische Druck- und Verlagsanstalt, 1972. 23 leaves, 4° format. Cloth binding with embossed stripes and a mounted leather label. Volume XXXVIII of the Codices Selecti series. – Facsimile of a late medieval book of divination: A collection of sayings, questions and answers for predicting individual fate. Although initially dismissed by the Church as superstition, from the 12th century onwards these books sparked renewed interest amongst the nobility, who regarded them as an amusing and semi-serious pastime. - Without the commentary. In very good condition overall. Leather binding with fillet tooling and mounted spine label. - Facsimile of a late medieval book of divination: a collection of sayings, questions and answers for predicting individual destiny.
