VD 17 3:005696R. – According to Holzmann-Bohatta, vol. 2, No. 11591, is erroneously attributed to Veit Ludwig von Seckendorff, who himself rejected authorship (cf. Strauch, Solveig: Veit Ludwig von Seckendorff (1626–1692), p. 1). A significant foundational work on constitutional law by the Frankenberg scholar and Privy Councillor to the Elector of Saxony, Veit Ludwig von Seckendorff, on the constitution and government of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation. The work deals in depth with both the general state of the Empire and its inhabitants, as well as its ecclesiastical and secular constitution and government, and is regarded as one of the most important compendia of early modern German imperial journalism. This 1687 edition is the second printing following the first edition of 1686 and includes, as a supplement, the imperial register in use at the time, as well as three further lists to complement the main work.
