With 144 full-page plates, some in colour, 6 partly folded maps, as well as numerous plate supplements and illustrations. Stuttgart, E. Schweizerbart 1906–1923. 4°. Paperback with German title (slightly bumped, minimally stained).
First edition. – Rare complete set. – The German zoologist and botanist Alfred Voeltzkow (1860–1947) travelled to East Africa between 1903 and 1905. The results of his research were published in 19 parts and include, amongst other things, his travel reports on the Comoros, the Witu Islands and the Zanzibar Archipelago. Furthermore, he describes the flora and fauna of the regions, as well as their geology and history. - Margins partly browned. A fresh copy, still largely unopened. Not thoroughly collated due to its fragility. Bindings in good condition.
