Connolly, with his gilt name stamp on the front covers of both volumes (hinges scuffed, front covers with scratches, edges worn and corners bumped).
An illustrated survey of all quays, landing stages and slipways along the East River and the North River. The aim of this survey was to facilitate the repair and extension of the landing stages owned by the city, which the commissioners regarded as among the city’s most valuable assets. They sought to significantly increase the value of these properties through repair and maintenance. The beautifully hand-coloured plates feature dimensions, depths and other statistical details in red and black.
