With a frontispiece in woodcut, 1 multi-folded Map and 49 (1 double-sheet) colour lithographic plates (numbered 1–50). With explanatory text by G.H. von Schubert & J. Roth. Stuttgart and Leipzig, Steinkopf, (1856). Quarto. Contemporary blue illustrated cloth binding with blind and gold embossing, featuring a three-sided gilt edge (with a label inscribed ‘bound by Wilh. Helfferich in Stuttgart’) (stained, scuffed and slightly bumped).
