Half leather with gold-embossed spine and title vignette, and gold edging on the reverse (handwritten inscription on the bottom edge, heavily rubbed, bumped and stained). Blackmer 1254/Sale 888. – A work by the English writer and traveller Julia Pardoe, who published several works during her time in Turkey. The beautiful steel engravings in this volume depict views of Constantinople, its most important buildings, and numerous views of the Bosphorus and the towns along it. – Slightly foxed. Original cloth binding with gilt-stamped spine and cover vignette, all edges gilt (handwritten inscription on the bottom edge; the binding shows significant rubbing, bumping and staining). - A work by the English writer and traveller Julia Pardoe, who published several books based on her time in Turkey. The volume features beautiful steel engravings depicting views of Constantinople and its major buildings, as well as numerous views of the Bosphorus and the cities situated along it. - Slight foxing.
