Plan of the City of Berlin. Capital of the Electorate of Brandenburg and the usual residence of the King of Prussia. Redrawn very accurately from the plan in 4 sheets. Copperplate engraving. Berlin and Amsterdam, Neaulm, 1757. Sheet size approx. 52.5 x 71.5 cm. (With smoothed fold marks, 1 small tear at the edge, slight foxing, edges showing traces of mounting). Framed under a passe-partout and glass in a gilded wooden frame.
Reduced reproduction of the large 4-part map by Schmettau, 1753. – Schulz, Die ältesten Stadtpläne, no. 71 and fig. p. 148. - Schulz, City Maps of Berlin, No. 95. - To the right and left of the map is a list of streets and alleys, palaces, hospitals and other ‘notable buildings’, churches and chapels, squares and markets, bridges and gardens in Berlin. The map shows: Berlin, Neukölln, Friedrichswerder, Dorotheenstadt or Neustadt, Friedrichsstadt and the suburbs. - Slightly tanned. - Unframed, hence possible discolouration at the edges.
