A collection of 6 old maps and 2 views depicting scenes from northern Germany. C. 1720–1860. Contains 7 partly coloured copperplate engravings and one tinted lithograph. Image dimensions ranging from 24 x 28 cm to 59 x 52 cm. Some are decoratively framed under glass (frames partly damaged).
Includes: - Johann Baptist Homann. Prospect and Plan of the Imperial, Free Imperial and Seafaring City of Bremen together with its Surroundings. Nuremberg, c. 1720. - Cercles de Haute et Basse Saxe. Paris, Louis Charles Desnos, 1766. - Oldenburg Comitatus. Amsterdam, Schenk & Valk, c. 1700. - The County of Hoya with the counties of Diepholz and Spiegelberg. Vienna, Reilly, c. 1790. - Part of France. Partie de l’Empire Français. Sect. 35. Weimar, published by the Geographical Institute, c. 1813. Including Cloppenburg, Vechta, Wildeshausen and Quakenbrück. - Gustav Frank. View of Bremen. c. 1860. Tinted lithograph on paper (with water stains from previous water damage). - Thomas Jefferys. The German Dominions of the King of Great Britain. Comprising the Electorate of Brunswick-Lüneburg and including the duchies of Bremen, Verden, Lüneburg-Zell, Calenberg and Grubenhagen. With the counties of Danneberg, Diepholt and Hoya, to which are added the dominions of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. London, Laurie & Whittle, 1794. – The Bishoprics of Münster and Osnabrück, as well as the counties of Bentheim, Tecklenburg, Stenford, Lingen, Diepholt, Delmenhorst and Rietberg. Augsburg, Seutter, c. 1740. (With multiple smoothed folds, some of which have missing sections. A few handwritten annotations in coloured pencil). - Each with a smoothed centre fold. Some pages slightly browned. Generally well preserved.
