Saxony Werner, Carl Friedrich Heinrich VI Views of Eythra. Respectfully dedicated to the owner, Mr Kammerrath David Anger. With 6 chalk lithographs depicting views of the manor house and park at Eythra by Carl Werner. (Leipzig, Lithographic Institute of Rud. Weber), 1827. Quarto folio. Original paperback with title on the cover (with foxing, small sticker). First and only edition, printed in only a few copies for private distribution. The earliest lithographs by the landscape and architectural painter Carl Friedrich Heinrich Werner (Weimar 1808 – 1894 Leipzig). – Thieme-B. XXXV, 404. - In 1733, Eythra Castle was converted by Georg von Werther the Elder into a Baroque, three-winged complex. In 1819, the Leipzig cloth and wool merchant and Chamber Councillor David Anger acquired Eythra. It was he who commissioned Werner to produce the lithographs. - The lithographs are printed on heavy paper; overall, a fine and well-preserved copy in its original publisher’s condition. First and only edition, printed in only a few copies for private distribution.
