Plan of the City of Berlin. Capital of the Electorate of Brandenburg and the usual residence of the King of Prussia. Reduced very accurately from the plan in four sheets. Copperplate engraving. Berlin and Amsterdam, Neaulm, 1757. Sheet dimensions approx. 52.5 x 71.5 cm.
Reduced reproduction of Schmettau’s large 4-part plan from 1753. – Schulz, *Die ältesten Stadtpläne*, No. 71 and fig. p. 148. - Schulz, City Maps of Berlin, No. 95. - To the right and left of the map is a list of streets and alleys, palaces, hospitals and other ‘notable buildings’, churches and chapels, squares and markets, bridges and gardens in Berlin. The map shows: Berlin, Neukölln, Friedrichswerder, Dorotheenstadt or Neustadt, Friedrichstadt and the suburbs. - Folded; trimmed along the border on the right-hand margin; the margin there has been reinforced with a strip of paper on the reverse; a tear in the fold at the top margin (approx. 5 cm); 2 small creases caused by the paper; 1 small tear; otherwise generally in good condition.
