Each approx. 58 x 71–76 cm, total approx. 50.5 x 220 cm. Framed under Plexiglas. Thieme Becker, Vol. X, pp. 295–96. – The largest known historical panorama of Mainz to date, taken from the tower of St Stephen’s Church, shows the Old Town with the cathedral at its centre. The view stretches from Mombach in the west almost as far as Weisenau in the south. The River Rhine runs through the centre of the picture, visible from Schierstein to Ginsheim. In the background, the Taunus mountains are visible, as are, to the east, the mouth of the River Main and the view towards Hochheim. – Paper slightly wavy, with some foxing, otherwise in good condition.
