3 works. Auerbach’s Court in Leipzig / The Esplanade in the Peters Vorstadt district of Leipzig / The Castle or Castell in Leipzig, known as the Pleißenburg. Circa 1780, Leipzig. Each an old-coloured, bilingual copperplate engraving / peep-show sheet on handmade paper. Sheet size up to 32 x 44.8 cm. With engraved text containing details of the artist, engraver, title and, in some cases, printer’s privileges in the lower margin.
Engraved by Johann Baptist Bergmüller (1724–1785) after a drawing by Johann August Rosmäßler (1752–1783) or by Daniel Adam Hauer (1734–1789) after a design by Samuel Blättner (1704–1762), Leipzig. – Slightly mottled with brown spots, with faded margins and discolouration; water stains in places; handling and crease marks; one sheet with a small, backed tear; reverse showing traces of former mounting in places. Overall in good condition. Excellent prints with margins.
