Description
Netherlands Kühn, Gustav Neuruppin picture sheet. The great and beautiful city of Antwerp is being bombarded by the Dutch General Chasée from the fortress and the warships, and is almost entirely burnt to the ground. c. 1830/31. Lithograph, stencil-coloured. 26.5 x 35 cm (33 x 42 cm). Signed on the plate, inscribed ‘Neu Ruppin, available from Gustav Kühn’. – With a central fold. Mounted in a passe-partout and framed behind glass. Paper browned with age and partially stained; edges irregular and with a small, barely noticeable tear in the upper centre. Overall in good condition. Excellent, high-contrast print with vibrant colours. Netherlands. - Lithograph, stencil-coloured. Signed in the stone and inscribed ‘Neu Ruppin zu haben bei Gustav Kühn’. - With a central fold. Mounted in a passe-partout and framed under glass. - Paper browned with age and spotted in places; the margins are uneven and there is a small, barely noticeable tear at the top centre. Overall in good condition. A fine, richly contrasted impression with vibrant colours.
