Nobility A collection of 33 depictions of rulers’ portraits and coats of arms. Europe, 18th–19th centuries. Includes copperplate engravings and woodcuts, some hand-coloured. Sizes range from 19 x 11.5 cm to 25 x 16.5 cm. Includes portraits of Württemberg dukes, heraldic plates depicting European princely and royal houses, and figures bearing banners and coats of arms from south-western Germany. Three works form the front and back of the same printed sheet. See Weigel, *Wappen-Calender*, and Seyfart, *Wappenbuch*. Includes, amongst others: two portraits of Württemberg rulers, including Christoph, Duke of Württemberg and Teck, and Eberhard the Bearded, Duke of Württemberg and Teck, each with a biographical caption. Furthermore, several old-coloured heraldic sheets featuring coats of arms of European dynasties and territories, including princely, ducal and royal coats of arms, some with crests, rank crowns or decorative borders. Also included is a group of south-west German standard-bearers and heraldic figures based on early modern models, including those of Swabia, Brandenburg, Saxony and Schwarzburg. As a bonus, 3 uncoloured facsimile plates featuring figurative depictions of banners for Halle in Swabia and Buchhorn, Halle in Swabia. Some with glazing along the edges. Crease marks.
