Lepicie, Nicolas Bernard 2 works. *La Gouvernante* / *La Mère Laborieuse*. 1739/40. Each a copperplate etching on handmade paper. Up to 37.5 x 26.5 cm (38.3 x 27.6 cm). With engraved text in French at the bottom margin, including details of the artist, engraver, title and printer’s licence. Each mounted in a passe-partout. Portalis/Beraldi 6 and 9. – Each engraved by Nicholas Bernard Lépicié (1735–1784). – After the famous paintings of the same name by Jean Siméon Chardin (1699–1779). - Printed by Louis Surugue, Paris, and François Chereau, ibid. - Slightly darkened and faded at the edges, a very isolated stain, occasional edge tears; verso partly slightly irregularly browned, with small traces of mounting; overall in good condition. Consistently excellent, high-contrast prints of everyday genre scenes imbued with symbolism, each with a narrow margin. 2 works. Each copperplate etching on laid paper. Each with engraved text in French in the lower margin, indicating the artist, printer, title and printer’s privilege. Each spot-mounted to a mat. – Each printed by Nicholas Bernard Lépicié (1735–1784). – After the famous paintings of the same name by Jean Siméon Chardin (1699–1779). - Printed by Louis Surugue, Paris, or rather François Chereau, ibid. Slightly darkened and not as fresh in the margins, a very isolated stain, an isolated marginal tear; the reverse is partly slightly irregularly browned, with small traces of mounting; all in all, in good condition.
