The 12 Months, depicting the activities and pleasures of each month. Circa 1766. 12 etchings, hand-coloured afterwards. Each on handmade paper. Sheet dimensions: approx. 22 x 19 cm each. Each centred with the engraved name of the month. Each mounted selectively onto a backing board and within a passe-partout. – Selective faint brown spots and soiling, also on the reverse. Occasional slight studio marks and brownish spots. 2 sheets with horizontal crease and fold marks; these have been smoothed out. 2 sheets with water stains. Overall still in good condition. Superb, delicate prints with wide margins, hand-coloured in opaque, fresh colours. The complete set featuring all 12 calendar months in Latin, with Baroque decorative elements and the respective sign of the zodiac.
