From the edition of *Historien der Nederlanden* by Emanuel van Meteren. Mounted beneath a passe-partout in the upper section. Published in Amsterdam by Jan Jacobsz. Schipper. See *Historien der Nederlanden*, no. 229. – The copperplate engraving depicts an early printed portrait of Elizabeth I, following a portrait style prevalent in courtly circles. It is a single-sheet print integrated into the book publication. The reverse side features a Dutch letterpress print. The artistic model is thought to be by Isaac Oliver. – Slightly browned due to age. Slightly wavy. Overall in very good condition. A crisp, richly detailed print. Copper engraving on laid paper.
