Prenner, Anton Josef von Tavern scene. After Adriaen van Ostade. 1728. Copperplate engraving on vellum. 22.5 x 16 (32 x 25.5 cm). Mounted in a passe-partout. Plate 18 from the series *Theatrum Artis Pictoriae*. A. J. von Prenner’s series featured several paintings from the Imperial Picture Gallery in Vienna. Prenner was an Austrian copperplate engraver who, upon his arrival in Vienna in 1928, began documenting the royal art collections. – The image and the decorative frame were not printed at the same time, resulting in two plate margins. - Paper has yellowed and is slightly stained. Overall, a magnificent, finely lined engraving. - Also included: C. C. A. Last. ‘Tafereel van Het Menschlijk Leven’. After Jan Steen. c. 1830. Hand-coloured and raised lithograph. 33 x 30 cm. Mounted under a passe-partout. - Illustration after a painting by Steen for Johannes Immerzeel’s *Het Koninklijk Museum van 's Gravenhage, op steen gebragt*. - Slightly stained.
