20 works. Depictions of costumes. c. 1796–98. Each a coloured copperplate engraving in the pointillist style on handmade paper. Sheet size up to 53 x 35 cm. With engraved text in Italian at the bottom margin, giving the artist’s, title and publisher’s details.
An extensive collection of striking engravings devoted to the costumes of the inhabitants of Tuscany in the 18th century, depicted in everyday scenes. - Partly from: *I contadini della Toscana Espressi al naturale, Secondo le diverse loro vestiture In sessanta Stampe a colori*, Florence 1796. - Engraved by Carlo Lasinio (1759–1838), Gaetano Cecchi, Giovanni Battista Cavini, Gaetano Vascellini (1745–1805) and P. Lancon. - After drawings by Antonio Bicci. - Edited by Niccolò Pagni & Giuseppe Bardi, Florence, c. 1796–1798. - Some pages browned, with brown spots, very occasional crease marks; on the reverse, the margins mostly bear traces of former mounting all round; some pages slightly faded; overall still in good to very good condition. Consistently excellent, high-contrast prints with margins.
