Four works by and about Carl Friedrich Bahrdt (1741–92), a Protestant theologian and author who was controversial throughout his life due to his radical Enlightenment views and his lifestyle. In 1789, Bahrdt was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment in a fortress for a satire on the Prussian religious edict. – Contains 1. (Carl Friedrich Bahrdt.) On Freedom of the Press and its Limits.
