The French writer first published his ‘Lettres’ in 1624, modelled on those of Cicero and Pliny. – Edges browned. Slightly foxed. Overall, a well-preserved copy. With an engraved title vignette. Leather binding with gilt spine and speckled edges (heavily bumped, joints starting to crack). - Rare Paris edition. - The collected *Lettres* of the French writer Jean-Louis Guez de Balzac.
