Annotated and interpreted by Carlos Ruaeus, Soc. Jesu. With an engraved frontispiece, a folded map and 14 copperplate engravings. London, Knapton, Knaplock, Midwinter, et al., 1735. 12 leaves, 610 pp., 222 pp. 8°. Leather with gilt edges, gilt-stamped Spine label, gilt edges and coloured edges (heavily rubbed and bumped, joints cracked).
Rare. – The Eclogues (Bucolica), Georgics and Aeneid by the Roman poet Virgil collected in a single volume. Accompanied by copperplate engravings by the English engraver James Mynde. With a foreword on Virgil’s life. – Some pages slightly worm-eaten and stained. Well preserved overall.
