Contemporary half-leather binding (slightly rubbed and scuffed, Vol. 1, spine with tears and missing pages). 2nd reprint of the 1st complete edition. – Ziegenfuss I, pp. 509–15 – ADB 12, pp. 17–23 – Killy V, pp. 223–24: “Herbart transformed himself from an enthusiastic disciple of Fichte into a staunch opponent. His own system exhibits features of a critical realism, which H. derived from a peculiar combination of Kant’s doctrine of the phenomenal world with Leibniz’s monadology.” – Slightly tanned, name on title page, a discarded university library copy with corresponding stamps, occasional underlining, overall a good copy. - Also from the library of Friedrich Meinecke: Schlosser, F.
