With 1 engraved portrait frontispiece, 1 frontispiece showing a view of the Steckelberg, 1 folded facsimile and several text excerpts. Leipzig, Teubner, (1858)–1859–1861. Large 8°. Slightly late marbled half-leather with gold-stamped title (slightly rubbed, spine with library labels removed), front cover with bound-in. First edition of the rare and, to this day, authoritative complete edition, featuring reproductions of the title pages and woodcut illustrations from the original editions. - Excludes the two supplementary volumes published up to 1870, containing additional letters and registers. - At the end of Vol. 2, the corrected pages 193/194 and 117/118 from Vol. 1 are bound in. In Vol. 1, the *Index Bibliographicus* (pages 1*–104*), which was published separately in 1858 as the first volume, is bound after the introduction and before the main text. - This bibliographical index is followed by the main work: Vol. I: Letters from 1506–1520. – Vol. II: Letters from 1521–1525. - Vol. III: Ulrich von Hutten’s poetic works with explanatory additions and notes by Eduard Böcking. - Vol. IV: Ulrich von Hutten’s discourses and those erroneously attributed to him.
