Livius, after Titus Les Décades de Tite-Livre, with the Supplements. 14 vols. With an engraved title page. Paris, 1669. 12°. Leather with gilt edges and gilt-stamped title and gilded edges, with red-edged pages (heavily rubbed and bumped, with some small losses to the leather in places). An extremely rare edition; we have been unable to locate it either on the open market or in any institution worldwide. – Second edition with the new title page. - Not listed in VD17. - Translated into French by P. Du Ryer of the French Academy. - The comprehensive historical work ‘Ab Urbe Condita’ by the Roman historian Titus Livius, covering the history of Rome and published in over 100 volumes. The historian, who lived during the reign of Emperor Augustus, published several volumes of the work before his death. - Margins slightly browned, with some foxing.
