Leather with gilt edges, gilt fillets and gilt title, gilt headbands and marbled edges (heavily rubbed and bumped). French edition of *De Bello Civili* by the Roman poet Marcus Annaeus Lucanus, often referred to as Lucan. Due to a passage concerning the Battle of Pharsalus, the work was known as *Pharsalia* in earlier editions. – Last pages of Volume 2 show slight worm-eaten damage. Generally slightly foxed, with some water-stains. Overall in good condition with detailed copperplate engravings. With an engraved frontispiece, a title vignette in each volume, and a total of 10 copperplate engravings. Leather binding with gilt spine decoration, gilt-stamped fillets and spine title, gilt turn-ins, and marbled edges (showing significant rubbing and bumping). - French edition of *De Bello Civili* by the Roman poet Marcus Annaeus Lucanus (often referred to simply as Lucan).
