Major exhibition of paintings and sculptures by the Darmstadt Secession, featuring notable national and international artists such as Max Beckmann, Willi Baumeister, Oskar Schlemmer, Max Kaus, Frans Masereel, Max Pechstein, Moise Kisling, André Derain, Marc Chagall, etc. - The interesting catalogue cover by the Darmstadt painter C. Gunschmann (1895–1984) depicts a female torso by Archipenko (Galerie Westheim, Berlin) and an ancient Egyptian woman in the background. Carl Gunschmann founded the Darmstadt Secession with Kasimir Edschmid following the turmoil of the 1919 revolution. – Somewhat lightly soiled in places; 1 leaf with a repaired corner tear. Exhibition catalogue with numerous, mostly full-page illustrations.
