Bindings Masterful hand-bound volume in parchment with a porous texture, bound with five continuous bands over cardboard; the covers feature leather inlays in triangular and rectangular shapes as a frame, and are divided by several gold-stamped fillets; gold-stamped Title on a leather label, endpapers of patterned printed paper with embossed decoration and gilt head edging, in a foil slipcase and a new slipcase (joints reinforced with binding leather; the inlay work has minimal losses and is slightly rubbed). Contents: Praetorius, Johannes (i.e. Hans Schulze). Stories: these are true and exceedingly comical or charming tales of the … ghost Rübezahl … newly brought to light by … (Reprint of the 1738 edition). With 23 woodcuts based on old originals.
