Description
Hitzler, Franz Ponnier, Katharina Silent. Poems. Woodcuts by Franz Hitzler. With 19 woodcuts, including two double-page prints, one as a title vignette and one on the front cover. Munich, Kunst & Alltag, Edition Jonas, 1992. Folio. 44 unnumbered pp. Ill. Original cloth binding. One of 33 numbered copies, signed by the artist in the colophon. Generously sized, very wide-margined print on vellum. - A rare artist’s book by the poet K. Ronnier featuring woodcuts by her husband, F. Hitzler. In these works, Hitzler subverts classical beauty through ascetic abstraction, grotesque figures or eruptive lines. - A fine copy.
