Artists’ Books Ebel, Gerhild Die neue Versleere. 30 excerpts. Leer, 1990. 33 cardboard leaves (one of which is a foil leaf with a label reading ‘Aposiopese’), Gr.-8°, original paperback with die-cut. One of 30 numbered and signed copies. - Not listed in Henkel/Russ. - Includes: the same work, a special cut-out edition for Wolf Rosenthal (with a corresponding dedication by the artist). 16 sheets with cut-outs. Edition produced for the installation at the Ystad Art Museum, Sweden, in 1998. - With an accompanying handwritten postcard from the artist to Wolf Rosenthal. - One of 25 numbered copies. - Gerhild Ebel (born 1965) was awarded the V.O. Stomps Prize in 2001. She is a member of the artists’ group 13+ and editor of the original graphic art journal “quartett”. Her idiosyncratic artist’s book suggests a lack of content as a result of censorship. Instead of text and images, only their outlines are visible.
