Cramer 38. – Mourlot 171–172. – Terres de grand feu – roughly translated as ‘Earth of the Great Fire’ – is the exhibition catalogue for the joint ceramic work by Joan Miró (1893–1983) and the Catalan ceramist Josep Llorens Artigas (1892–1980). The exhibition took place in December 1956 at the Pierre Matisse Gallery in New York. Miró and Artigas developed their ceramic sculptures particularly between 1953 and 1956; Miró often provided the forms and models, whilst Artigas was responsible for the ceramic execution and firing. - In good condition.
