Fashion Dieck, Heinz Collection of approx. 85 hand-drawn sketches. Circa 1950. Watercolours, gouaches, pen and ink drawings, some with collage elements, pencil and, in some cases, coloured pencil, as well as the occasional photograph, on predominantly (sturdy) vellum in the original portfolio. Sheet sizes up to 44.5 x 30 cm. Almost all bear the stamp ‘Heinz Dieck / Peine / Hann. / Eschenstraße 2’ on the reverse. A comprehensive collection of striking, colour-rich advertising designs on the theme of fashion, including ladies’ and gentlemen’s fashion, children’s clothing, sport and leisure, and home and bathroom, as well as design drawings on the themes of hats, hair and hairstyles, and mannequins. Some were created for the long-established, well-known textile company Ludwig Korbmacher in Peine, Lower Saxony, whose history dates back to the 1930s. – Includes a typographical letter from the Ilsede works magazine to Heinz Dieck. - Some isolated scuffing to the edges or corners, or a minimal tear; a few slight signs of handling and very isolated creases; an isolated stain; some faint traces of colour on the reverse; overall in very good condition.
