Novalis The Poems of Friedrich von Hardenberg, known as Novalis. The Hague, De Zilversistel, 1915. 4 leaves, 132 pp., 4 leaves. Hand-bound in dark blue full morocco on 5 bands with fillets on the spine, cover, headband and inner knobs; gold-stamped title and three-sided gold edging (signed H. Fikentscher, Leipzig). One of 200 copies. Wide-margin print on handmade paper in red, blue and black. Set in a typeface by Peter Schoeffer von Gernsheim (15th century) and printed by J.F. van Royen on the Joh. Enschedé hand press. - Ex-libris by Max Kirdorf on the inside cover (his library was auctioned in Munich in 1929) and a further ex-libris marked ‘EA’. - Endpapers slightly stained by glue, but overall a fine copy. One of 200 copies. - Printed on the Enschedé hand press by H.J.F. van Royen in red, black and blue. - 2 bookplates. - Hand-bound in full morocco with ribs and gilt frames, bound by H. Fikentscher, Leipzig.
