Kamaitachi. New York, Aperture, 2005. Folio. Illustrated. Cloth-bound with a transparent slipcase in a richly illustrated paper slipcase (slipcase showing minimal scuffing).
One of 500 numbered and signed copies. - First English edition. - The ‘Kamaitachi’ series of photographs by the Japanese photographer and filmmaker Eikoh Hosoe was inspired by a forest spirit from a Japanese folktale. The first edition in book form was published in 1969. Hosoe had been director of the Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts in Kiyosato since its opening. - In very good condition overall.
