Blind-stamped green Romantic morocco binding with gilt edging and gilt label, as well as gilt fore-edges and coloured edges (slightly bumped, endpapers replaced). With an owner’s inscription on the title page. – First edition of the Grimm brothers’ translation of Thomas Crofton Croker’s successful *Fairy Tales and Traditions of the South of Ireland*, which was first published anonymously in 1825. This edition is particularly significant because of its extensive preface, which was also included in the subsequent English edition. - With stock and water stains. In good overall condition. Green Romantic-style morocco binding with blind-tooling, gilt spine decoration and spine label, gilt standing edges, and coloured edges (corners slightly bumped, endpapers renewed). - With ownership inscription on the title page. - First edition of the Grimm brothers’ translation of Thomas Crofton Croker’s successful *Fairy Tales and Traditions of the South of Ireland*, which had originally appeared anonymously in 1825.
