Photo album belonging to the Danish soldier Erhardt L. Høier. Containing over 200 photographs. 1957–1960. Landscape 4°. In an Asian lacquer album with wooden covers (slightly scuffed and bumped).
As part of the UN Emergency Force, Danish soldiers were sent to Egypt in 1956 to bring the Suez Crisis to an end. UN Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjöld and the Canadian Foreign Minister Lester B. Pearson were later awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for organising the UN Emergency Force. - The photographs mainly show the soldiers in camp or on the move. There are also several photographs of vehicles, aeroplanes and the landscape, as well as Egyptians. - Included: UN Emergency Force badge. - Erhardt L. Høier’s dog tag. - In very good condition overall.
