Berlin A collection of 286 photographs (mainly vintage, silver gelatine prints) featuring views and images of Berlin. Mostly from the 1930s, some from the 1950s. Various formats ranging from approx. 3.8 x 4.8 (170) to 18 x 12.5 cm. Loosely inserted into sleeves and a small ring binder; the small prints are mounted in a contemporary album. Among the images shown are: unloading operations on the quays of inner-city waterways, Lehrter Bahnhof, the Armoury, Alexanderufer, Engelufer, Museum Island, the Cathedral, the French Cathedral (Gendarmenmarkt), Jannowitz Bridge, Invaliden Cemetery, Busch Circus, Parochial Church, Humboldthafen, Radio Tower, Victory Column, Monument to the Fallen of Friedrich-Wilhelms University, Klingenberg Power Station, Mühlendamm Lock, Henschel-Wegmann train, Schulenburg Park, zoo animals, Marienfelde, street flooding, Karstadt building at Hermannplatz, construction of a section of the Berlin city motorway (9), typesetting workshop (3). - Includes some photographic postcards with additional duplicates. - Some are inscribed on the reverse and a few show traces of old, detached mounts; generally in good condition.
