Press photography A collection of approximately 1,350 press photographs. Gelatin silver prints. Frankfurt am Main, Deutsche Presse-Agentur, 1960s to 1980s. Various formats ranging from approx. 13 x 18 to 20 x 25 cm, predominantly large-format. Includes numerous photographs of political occasions and events in the Federal Republic of Germany, party conferences, demonstrations (Krupp Rheinhausen, against nuclear waste transports), numerous portraits (politicians, GDR civil rights activists, actors, writers, sportspeople, politicians, etc.), on international news and foreign policy (Israel, Palestine, South Lebanon, hostage-taking in Cuba, the Cuban prison riot in Atlanta, the ETA car bomb attack, the oil spill in Pennsylvania, election-related violence in Haiti), natural disasters, film, television, theatre, art, carnival, technology, trade fairs and much more. - On the reverse, mostly bearing the DPA copyright stamp and printed explanatory text on the subjects. - Among these are a few, mostly smaller, colour prints. - A few prints are stuck together; the older prints are mostly warped and some (mostly on the reverse) are stained; some corners are bumped and creased, but the collection is generally in good condition.
