Chemistry Thioindigo dyes in wool dyeing. With 61 felt colour samples. Biebrich on the Rhine, Kalle & Co AG Aniline Dye Factory, undated (c. 1924). 16 pp. 8° format. Contemporary paper cover with gold-stamped title and library label (worn, spine with a gap). Very rare. No copies currently available on the market. - Includes a section on the history of vat dyeing. - Ownership inscription by the scholar of the Tyrolean Franciscan Province, Fr. Viktor Schlechtleitner (1885–1953), and stamp of the O.F.M. Professors’ Library (Ordo Fratrum Minorum) at Solbad Hall in Tyrol. Inside front flyleaf with ownership stamp of Detlef Lehmann. - A few samples with minor marginal defects; otherwise generally well preserved. Chemistry – Concerning thioindigo dyes in wool dyeing, with 61 felt dye samples. Contemporary cardboard binding with gilt-stamped title on the cover and library label (worn, spine damaged). – Very rare.
