Medicine – Pharmacy Theile and Heinrich Wilhelm Ferdinand Wackenroder, Friedrich Wilhelm A collection of 3 volumes of handwritten lecture notes. (Jena, c. 1830.) 8°. Individually bound in contemporary paper with a gold-stamped spine label (worn, bumped). Contains (according to titles): Pharmacognosy by Prof. Theile. 130 leaves. – Analytical Chemistry by Prof. Wackenroder. 164 leaves. – Pharmacy by Wackenroder. 458 handwritten, paginated pages. - The anatomist Theile (1801–1879) and the chemist and pharmacist Wackenroder (1798–1854) were both lecturers and professors respectively in Jena and, from 1828, jointly headed the Pharmaceutical Institute there. Theile became a full professor of anatomy in Bern in 1834. - Slightly browned due to the paper, with brown spots; uncut handmade paper leaves; generally in good condition. Unified in a contemporary cardboard binding with a gilt-stamped label on the spine (rubbed, bumped). – Contains (according to the titles on the back): Pharmacognosy by Prof. Theile. – Analytical Chemistry by Prof. Wackenroder. – Pharmacy by Wackenroder. - The anatomist Theile (1801–1879) and the chemist and pharmacist Wackenroder (1798–1854) were both lecturers and professors in Jena and jointly headed the Pharmaceutical Institute there from 1828.
