Original half-leather bindings. Half-leather with gold-stamped title on the spine (heavily rubbed; spine of the first volume with a missing section).
A two-volume catalogue by the German banker and private scholar Joseph Paul von Cobres. He was originally from the Republic of Venice and founded one of the most significant banking houses of the time in Augsburg. As early as 1770, he began collecting natural history books and specimens, and his extensive collection was even visited by researchers of the time. – Showing significant foxing.
