Reptiles and Amphibians of the Caucasus (Herpetologia Caucasia). Published by the Caucasian Museum. With 3 lithographic plates, one of which is a chromolithograph. Tbilisi, Printing Office of the Office of the Governor-General E. I. V. for the Caucasus, 1913. 1 folio, 272 pp. 8°. Half leather binding using the original endpapers (heavily rubbed and bumped, stained).
Very rare. – Adler I, pp. 68–69. – Not listed in Nissen. – An important contribution to the herpetology of the Caucasus Mountains, which form the boundary between the two continents of Europe and Asia. The Russian herpetologist Alexander Mikhailovich Nikolsii (1858–1942) was one of the leading researchers in Russian herpetology at the turn of the century and was, amongst other things, particularly interested in zoogeography. – Edges more heavily browned. Overall, very well preserved.
