London, no publisher, 1871. 4°. 8 pp. Half leather with mounted title page (scuffed and bumped). Nissen IVB 389. – With lithographs by William Swainson. – George Robert Gray was a trained zoologist, but after completing his studies he devoted himself mainly to research in ornithology and entomology. The plates were originally intended for a work by his brother John Edward Gray. - Slightly foxed with minimal browning of the edges. Black-and-white lithographs. In good overall condition.
