Description
Militaria Instructions for the repair of machine guns 08 and 11 (M.G. 08 and 11 Repair Instructions). Dated 1 March 1910. Reprinted in 1914, incorporating cover pages 1 to 119. Berlin, Mittler und Sohn, 1914. 346 pp. 8°. Contemporary half-leather binding with German title (somewhat rubbed, bumped and stained, margins slightly browned). Extremely rare; currently no examples are known to us in the international market, nor are there any verifiable auction results. – Detailed description and instructions on the individual components of the machine guns, maintenance and repair. – The German-produced MG 08 and MG 11 machine guns were used in particular during the First World War. From 1915 onwards, the slightly lighter MG 08/15 was developed on the basis of the MG 08, to which the colloquial expression ‘nullachtfünfzehn’ – still very common today – refers. - The front inner hinge is cracked (though the book block is secure); the paper has browned very evenly; a few leaves are slightly dog-eared. Overall, a very well-preserved and extremely rare copy. Half-cloth binding with title on the cover (slightly bumped, rubbed and soiled, somewhat browned at the margins). - Very rare; currently not available to us on the international market and no auction results can be verified. - Detailed description and instructions on the individual components of the rifles, as well as the maintenance and repair of the MG 08 and MG 11 machine guns, which were used in particular during the First World War. - Front inner hinge cracked (but book block firm), very evenly browned due to the paper, a few pages somewhat dog-eared.
