These works remained in his personal collection and were purchased in the early 1920s by Ambroise Vollard (the famous dealer of Picasso, Cézanne, Renoir and Georges Rouault). He entrusted them to Maurice Potin, who transferred them onto copper plates and produced the prints. Vollard finally published them around 1935 in two portfolios, each printed in a run of approximately 350 copies. The engraving on offer comes from the archives of the engraver Maurice Potin.
