Description
No. 3 – HELENE MARTIN (Cayeux, circa 1980) The Peony for Dummies!!!! The hardiest I know… It withstands everything: rough handling, disease and the elements. Part oak, part reed, Helene Martin is a sure bet that I’d recommend even to those without a green thumb. Large, single Naples-yellow flowers with carmine filaments and plenty of lateral buds ensure three weeks of flowering. Lush, healthy, bright green foliage makes it a first-class ornamental shrub. As hardy as a stinging nettle (that’s a compliment). A show-winning ‘lutea’ hybrid. Plant it on its own – you won’t regret it. Allow 3m² for it. H: 160–170 cm
